Building a model of raising commercial chickens RTL132 and TRT123 in the direction of biosafety in Hai Duong province (Hai Phong city)

This is the name of the project chaired by the Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center (former Hai Duong Agricultural Extension Center), with Mr. Nguyen Phu Thuy as the project manager. The project was evaluated and accepted on the morning of August 15, 2025 at the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology. Dr. Le Luong Thinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, was the Chairman of the Council.

The study conducted a survey of the chicken farming situation in Hai Duong province (Hai Phong city) and selected farming locations in Cam Giang, Tu Ky, Chi Linh and Kinh Mon. The implementation was carried out at 06 farming households in 02 years, divided into 02 farming phases, with a scale of 4,000 birds/breed/phase, ensuring that each household raised no less than 1,000 birds. RTL132 and TRT123 chicken breeds were provided by Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center, Institute of Animal Husbandry, ensuring the requirements for implementing the topic.

The construction of the RTL132 and TRT123 commercial chicken models in the direction of biosafety for an average survival rate of 84.74-97.76%. The average body weight is from 1,926.56-2,477.82 grams/chicken. The highest average daily weight gain reaches 271.67 grams/chicken/day in the TRT123 breed and 193 grams/chicken/day in the RTL132 breed. The average feed consumption is from 2.52-2.95 kg of feed/kg of weight gain. Calculating the average economic efficiency of 02 raising batches, RTL132 commercial chickens gave a total revenue of 2,540,000 VND/100 chickens in the first batch, 2,690 VND/100 chickens in the second batch; TRT123 commercial chickens gave a total revenue of 5,400,000 VND/100 chickens in the first batch, 6,520,000 VND/100 chickens in the second batch. The project has also completed the process of raising RTL132 and TRT123 commercial chickens in the direction of basic biosafety suitable for local raising conditions.

With the above results, the Council unanimously accepted the project; at the same time, it proposed that the Management Board edit and supplement some contents: supplement an overview of the domestic and foreign research situation, market demand, parent origin of the two hybrid chicken combinations RTL132 and TRT123; supplement a summary table of survey data of households participating in the model; adjust the content of the table accordingly, review the statistics; supplement the method of calculating the economic efficiency of the model; clarify the adjustments in the process of perfecting the process of raising commercial chickens RTL132 and TRT123 in the direction of biosafety...
