Building a sustainable and comprehensive tourism industry

TTH.VN - On May 26, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh had a meeting and worked with the delegation of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) on the Swiss Sustainable Tourism Development Project in Vietnam (ST4SD) funded by the Swiss Government, period 2023 - 2027 (DA).

Mr. Ken Wood - DA Coordinator said that DA wishes to contribute to building a more sustainable and comprehensive tourism industry in Vietnam, thereby promoting public-private dialogue on tourism policy, developing sustainable tourism management and business skills. In particular, supporting national policy makers in promoting sustainable tourism policies such as national and local tourism development master plans and policies as well as other related policies...

The project will have three components, including: a dialogue mechanism between management agencies and the private sector; searching for suitable experts and training units; connecting with partners such as destination management agencies, business support units, key private partners, and social organizations.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh highly appreciated the significance of the project in building a more sustainable and comprehensive tourism industry.

The province has also oriented to develop green tourism, sustainable tourism, with many unique and impressive products and services, aiming at sustainable development. Therefore, it focuses on building and perfecting the set of criteria for sustainable tourism; at the same time, calling on units to invest and upgrade infrastructure to serve tourism development.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh hopes that Thua Thien Hue will be one of the localities selected to implement the project.
