Building Yen Bai ward to become the center of Lao Cai province

On August 4, the Congress of Yen Bai Ward Delegates, Lao Cai Province was held, with the participation of 169 delegates, representing more than 7,000 Party members, with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development".

Speaking at the congress, Lao Cai Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong assessed that in the context that Lao Cai province has completed the arrangement of administrative units, established a 2-level local government model, and oriented to become a "Growth Pole, a center for economic and trade connections between Vietnam and ASEAN with the Southwest region, China, developing in a green, harmonious, unique and happy direction", Yen Bai ward needs to establish a new role, not only as a political-administrative hub, but also as a central urban area with socio-economic development, a nucleus for absorbing and spreading development in the region, a place to receive and integrate services, labor and economic-cultural values, and at the same time, spread new development values in planning, administrative reform, public services and urban standards to the wards in the former Yen Bai city area, where socio-economic restructuring is underway for rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development.

Since then, the ward has been closely linked with the wards of the former Lao Cai city, forming a strong intra-regional link, together shaping the "Prosperous Urban Chain along the Red River", a strategic urban- economic corridor of the province, of the main growth engine for the strong transformation of Lao Cai province to advance strongly in the new development era of the country.

Continue planning and developing the commercial and service infrastructure system, focusing on attracting prestigious brands, developing high-quality services, modern urban services in the fields of healthcare, education , finance-banking, insurance, logistics, telecommunications, culture, sports, and entertainment.

Yen Bai Ward is the core urban ward of Yen Bai city (old) established on the basis of arrangement and merger of 5 wards: Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hong Ha, Minh Tan, Yen Ninh, Dong Tam. It has a natural area ^{of 16.92km2} ; population of more than 70,000 people; Party Committee has 131 branches, affiliated party committees with 7,068 party members.
