On the evening of January 5th, artist Bui Chat surprised the public by bringing his "Xo Het Welcoming Tet" (Let's Win Everything to Welcome the New Year) exhibition to the interactive installation space at Maii Artspace, 72/7 Tran Quoc Toan Street, District 3 (Ho Chi Minh City).

Recently, artist Bui Chat has been in a very active and successful period, organizing numerous exhibitions. This solo exhibition, celebrating the Lunar New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake), marks his 11th solo exhibition in just over two years.

A small "market" for buying and selling unique and unusual paintings.

"Dropping Everything to Welcome Tet" is Bui Chat's most explicit and specific artistic project to date, allowing the public to easily and directly understand and access the message without the need for interpretation or analysis from any critic.

Although he had previously held many solo exhibitions, things weren't entirely smooth sailing. Artist Bui Chat shared: "In this project, the most difficult thing for me was daring to express myself honestly, without concealing my thoughts, without fear of being ridiculed or scorned by others. Being an artist in this situation truly requires honesty, courage, and a touch of humility to succeed."

At the "Until the New Year" exhibition, viewers can admire 23 previously unreleased works by the artist. Even more special is the presence of a customer appreciation area where viewers, art buyers, and collectors can freely meet, exchange ideas, and chat with the artist himself.

Viewers were extremely delighted by the unique and unconventional presentation of an art exhibition by poet and painter Bui Chat.

To help the artworks find new owners quickly, Bui Chat arranged a sales area – a kind of miniature market with many stalls – along with cheerful and dynamic features such as: discounted artworks, paintings sold by weight, paintings sold in bulk, interest-free installment payments, buy one get one free, points accumulation for purchases... with many suitable price ranges. It's worth noting that this unique market model is appearing at an art exhibition for the first time.

With the author's permission, Thanh Nien newspaper is pleased to present a selection of works by artist Bui Chat currently on display at the "Getting Rid of Everything to Welcome Tet" exhibition:

"Having followed and worked alongside Bui Chat for many years, I've seen in him a pioneering spirit, a willingness to explore and innovate in art creation and various other activities. He doesn't limit himself in any circumstances. Looking at it from that perspective, and having previously encountered Bui Chat's activities and other work, one will find his recent painting endeavors interesting and worth exploring."
