Handling clinic accused of 50 million VND circumcision

On the afternoon of February 14, the Department of Health of Binh Thuan province sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee on handling violations at Binh Thuan General Clinic (No. 2 Nguyen Gia Tu, Phu Thuy Ward, Phan Thiet City).

According to the Department of Health , Binh Thuan General Clinic has been approved by the department to perform 239 categories of medical examination and treatment techniques, including circumcision due to adhesion or length.

Immediately after the scandal, a male patient (24 years old, in Phu Quy island district) accused the above clinic of performing a circumcision procedure for 50 million VND. The Health Department Inspectorate got involved.

Through inspection, the following violations were discovered at the clinic: staff did not wear name tags, did not fully post at the pharmacy's drug sales location, and charged medical examination and treatment service prices higher than the posted prices.

Based on the inspection results, the Chief Inspector of the Department of Health issued a decision to fine Binh Thuan General Clinic 19.7 million VND.

Previously, information spread on social networks about a male patient coming to the clinic to register for a circumcision procedure.

Here, while this person was being injected with anesthesia to prepare for surgery, the clinic staff continuously "extorted money" with the surgery costing up to 50 million VND.

After the press published the article, the Office of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Health to direct inspection, verification and handling in accordance with the provisions of law.
