According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Minh Hung, taking full advantage of the premise from 2024, when import demand from markets of key products tends to increase. Along with the advantages of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), expanding the market to boost exports, the export situation of goods in the first quarter of 2025 is relatively favorable. In particular, the number of orders for rice has decreased sharply, the reason is that India has resumed rice exports, Indonesia is a large market that has promoted food self-sufficiency, only importing in small amounts; the Philippines also limited purchases due to abundant inventories, leading to a sharp decrease in the province's rice exports in terms of output and price.
Border trade activities between An Giang province (Vietnam) and provinces and cities (Kingdom of Cambodia) are still taking place smoothly and openly. The customs clearance process of goods is carried out by the border customs branches in accordance with regulations and creates favorable conditions, reducing costs for businesses. In the first quarter of 2025, the total import and export turnover through border gates in the province is over 478.6 million USD.
