According to the elders in Di Nau commune, since childhood, when they went into the forest to collect firewood, hunt; herd buffaloes, cut grass; look for wild honey…, they saw the towering green lim trees, with large trunks, covered with moss. And no one knows when this rare tree species appeared, or exactly how old it is. It is estimated that the green lim trees in Ba Ho forest are several hundred years old.

To explore the Ba Ho green lim forest, you have to follow a winding, bumpy, rocky forest path; cross the clear Chay Coi stream... In the middle of the old lim forest, the sunlight shines brightly, the green lim roots stand tall, the tree trunks are straight and covered with moss and lichen, a clear, longing sky opens up.
Not counting the regenerated trees, the area of young lim trees is naturally propagated; in Ba Ho forest, there is currently a population of more than 300 rare green lim trees, looked after by 9 households in Di Nau commune.
It is known that in 1989, implementing the policy of allocating forest land and assigning ownership to the Ba Ho forest area, households in Di Nau commune were only assigned to cultivate the forestry land area, while the interspersed ironwood forest area was not specifically assigned.
The Ba Ho green lim tree population is considered a precious treasure by the villagers of Di Nau.
But this is a precious forest, and people have always volunteered to protect and look after it. The households assigned to look after it are all proud of the green lim forest, always trying their best to preserve it and "hand it over" to their descendants from generation to generation, even though they do not receive a single penny in compensation, with the hope of only contributing a small part to the forest rangers to strictly protect and care for the ancient lim trees to stay green forever. That voluntary transfer comes from the love for the forest, wanting the green here to be forever green, continuing for generations to come...
In the Ba Ho lim forest, the oldest tree is about 300 years old, with a trunk that is 3-4 people can hug, but trees that are 2 people can hug are very common. The unique thing about the Ba Ho lim forest, following the giant lim tree, there are many green lim mushrooms growing at the base of the tree. Green lim mushrooms are an extremely precious medicine, good for human health, so they are carefully looked after and protected by the people.
Ba Ho forest is more than 40 hectares wide. The government and people of Di Nau commune hope that the Ba Ho precious ironwood forest will be planned and managed scientifically by the authorities, to create conditions for conservation, aiming to establish a heritage tree population; develop and multiply forest capital, becoming a valuable address - linked with research activities, sightseeing, tourism development...
