The week is an annual event held in Hanoi with the aim of bringing Korean culinary culture closer to international friends.

Attending the opening ceremony of Korean Food Week on November 30 at the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 hotel were Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young-sam; Director of the Korea Agricultural and Food Products Distribution Corporation in ASEAN Park Min-cheol and representatives of businesses, organizations, media agencies...

The main products of this Food Week are Korean forest products that are grown and harvested completely naturally. Forest products have long been a key category in Korean food exports. Thanks to the preserved natural environment and special soil conditions, Korean forest products when applied in cuisine have the effect of enhancing both the flavor and nutritional value of the dish.

With a special menu from 2-star Michelin chef – Chef Lee Jun, the event brought a complete culinary culture experience with a unique blend of talented cooking techniques in a traditional Korean art space.

Exquisite dishes from renowned chefs such as Deodeok salad, Flounder and Doraji (Platycodon grandiflorum), Abalone and Miyeok, Duck breast with Yakbap and Beef Chui Namul…. elevate the experience of diners attending. At the same time, artisans from the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam also bring a feast for the senses when combining cuisine with traditional Korean music .

Korean Food Week 2023 aims to introduce premium Korean food ingredients to Vietnam as well as high-quality Korean food menus developed by 2-star Michelin chefs; expand opportunities to learn about Korean culture and bring the two countries closer together.”

After the opening ceremony, the Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 event series will continue with many interesting cultural and culinary activities: Soko Night with guest bartender Son Soko; Korean whiskey mixing class led by founder and owner of Ki One Whiskey - Bryan Do; Namul making class with Master Chef Choi Hyang-ran; kimchi making class with Master Chef Lee Sun-hee; "Hankwa" dessert making class instructed by chef Kang Hyo-sung.

Korean Gastronomy Week 2023 not only contributes to introducing and promoting Korean cuisine but is also an opportunity to exchange, promote trade and enhance cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea in the coming time.
