100% of meritorious households receive housing support: A gesture of gratitude before July 27

(Chinhphu.vn) - As of July 23, 2025, the whole country has basically completed eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for households of people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

This result is a clear demonstration of the drastic efforts of all levels and sectors in implementing the Prime Minister 's direction, aiming to comprehensively improve living conditions, both materially and spiritually, for those with meritorious services, in a timely manner before War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.

Each household will receive 60 million VND for new construction and 30 million VND for repairs.

According to the Department of People with Meritorious Services ( Ministry of Home Affairs ), currently, the whole country has about 9.2 million people with meritorious services to the revolution, of which nearly 1.4 million people are enjoying monthly preferential treatment from the State.

After completing the Housing Support Project for People with Meritorious Services for the 2013-2019 period, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (formerly) coordinated with the Ministry of Construction to submit to the Prime Minister for issuance of Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg. Accordingly, the housing support program for people with meritorious services will continue to be implemented in 2025, with the goal of completing more than 44,000 houses, including repairs and new construction.

Implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, localities have urgently taken action, determined to complete the provision of housing for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs. The program has been implemented synchronously nationwide, mobilizing close coordination between ministries, branches, localities and the joint efforts of the social community.

As of July 23, 2025, according to the latest updated data from localities, the whole country has basically completed 100% of the work of supporting the repair, construction or improvement of housing for households of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs.

The completion of this goal demonstrates the care and concern of the Party and State for those with meritorious services; it is an expression of deep gratitude to those who have sacrificed and devoted their blood and bones for independence, freedom and the cause of protecting the Fatherland - especially Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers and families of martyrs.
