(NADS) - A striking photo of a tiger cub playing with its prey has won the Photo of the Year Award at the 2024 International Nature Photography Awards. The photo by photographer Mangesh Ratnakar Desai (India) excelled against more than 25,000 entries from photographers in 62 countries.

Established in 1995, the Nature's Best Photo Awards are organized by Nature's Best Photography Magazine to honor nature photographers. These photographers travel the world to capture the beauty and diversity of nature. Their photographs are impressive images of nature, from majestic mountain peaks to mysterious ocean depths and fascinating wildlife. Their images have a strong impact on viewers, awakening our desire to explore, enjoy and preserve the natural world.

Best Nature Photographer of the Year 2024

The photo "Bengal Tigers" captures a mother tiger teaching her son the skills needed to survive on his own, giving us a true glimpse of life in the wild. What looks like a fierce fight to the viewer turns out to be a lesson in nature's survival.

“The moment the two tigers dived into the water was vivid and graceful right before my eyes,” recalls author Mangesh Ratnakar Desai. “I set the shutter speed precisely to capture the splashes and this impressive interaction of the tigers with each other.”

Desai's photo is one of several notable entries selected in the competition, organized by Nature's Best Photography magazine. In addition, the 2024 Nature Photography Awards also awarded winners in 11 categories, including: Birds, Wildlife, Animal Humor, Polar Photography, Nature Art, Landscape, Nature Discovery , Conservation Stories, Conservation (Single Image), Ocean World, Nature Short Film; and an award was given to the Young Photographer of the Year.

Photography and Life Magazine would like to introduce the winning works in each category.
