According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the Northern region has 7 higher education institutions leading 7 networks in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry, biotechnology, transportation technology, advanced materials; the Central and Southern regions have 6 higher education institutions leading 6 networks.
In February 2025, the Prime Minister approved the project to develop a system of excellent training centers and talents in technology 4.0 by 2030.
The project aims to form at least 1 or 2 networks of excellent and talented training centers in each priority technology field of Industry 4.0.
In the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductor industry and biotechnology alone, at least 2 or 3 networks of excellent training centers and talents in the three regions of North - Central - South will be formed.
Each network of centers of excellence and talent is led by a strong higher education institution and has at least 5 higher education institutions, along with a number of domestic and foreign enterprises participating.
Each network organizes at least 1 excellent program on adaptive training, retraining, advanced training, and specialized training for human resource development in a number of priority technology fields of Industry 4.0.
Strive for each network to attract at least 100 excellent scientists and experts, Vietnamese people living abroad and foreigners, to participate in teaching and scientific research in higher education institutions in Vietnam.
Speaking at the launching ceremony of 7 Northern regional networks, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc affirmed that the announcement of networks of excellent training centers and talents in technology 4.0 is a concrete step to implement the above major policies and guidelines into the practice of higher education.
"Instead of developing each school individually, we are moving towards a network approach of cooperation and sharing. We believe that with these networks of centers of excellence, the quality of high-tech human resources will have a breakthrough," he said.
According to him, through excellent training programs and joint research projects between the school and businesses, students and researchers will be able to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge, practice interdisciplinary skills and experience solving practical technological problems.
Experience from countries around the world shows that only when schools, businesses and the State cooperate closely can an open innovation ecosystem be built, where every idea and initiative has the opportunity to be nurtured and applied.
Seven educational institutions in the Northern region host the seven newly launched networks as follows:
STT | Name of the host unit | Field |
