20 units in the tourism and education industry present fashion shows made from recycled waste

On May 12, in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism organized a Fashion Show Contest using and recycling household solid waste. Attending the contest were leaders of the Department of Tourism, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and tourism businesses in Khanh Hoa province.

The contest has the participation of 20 teams from tourism businesses, universities and colleges in the province. Accordingly, the teams performed 40 costumes made from solid waste (plastic bags, straws, cardboard, newspapers, bottles, boxes, shells, seashells, etc.) designed very beautifully with themes such as: Gift of the sea; Muong Thanh - Ban flowers and me; The great bird's wings; The color of the ocean; Green vitality; Ocean light, Going towards the sun, Green planet, Flowers of the waves... The jury organized the judging based on 4 criteria: Costumes on the right theme, right material; costume design; product commentary; contestant performance. It is expected that the Organizing Committee will award 2 First prizes, worth 2.5 million VND/prize; 4 Second prizes, worth 2 million VND/prize, 6 Third prizes, worth 1.5 million VND/prize.

Leaders of the Department of Tourism presented flowers and souvenir flags to 20 units participating in the contest.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, the leader of the Department of Tourism emphasized: The contest is a healthy playground to help raise awareness and responsibility of businesses in environmental protection and classification of domestic solid waste in Khanh Hoa province. This is also an opportunity for workers to exchange, learn, share experiences, strengthen solidarity; create new momentum, new vitality for labor and training, for the need to enjoy spiritual life among workers in the tourism industry of Khanh Hoa province,

It is known that in addition to this event, the Department of Tourism has been and will coordinate with related units to organize many environmental protection activities such as: Collecting waste from beaches and parks; diving to collect waste under the sea; planting trees; mobilizing tourism businesses to use environmentally friendly products, recycling waste to make useful products, decorations, etc.
