On October 30th, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training announced that 61 out of 102 communes and wards have submitted reports regarding outstanding overtime pay for teachers. Of these, 23 communes and wards confirmed they still owe teachers over 35 billion VND in overtime pay.
A representative from the Department of Education and Training stated that the unit is urging the remaining localities to submit reports for compilation and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for direction in resolving the issue definitively and ensuring the rights of teachers.

Previously, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training issued a document requesting localities and educational institutions to report in detail on the payment of overtime pay to teachers, as directed by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee.
Initial reviews indicate that the delay in payments mainly occurs in preschools, primary schools, and secondary schools directly managed by the People's Committees of communes and wards. For example, Nguyen Duc Canh Primary School (Buon Ma Thuot ward) owes over 6,500 lessons, equivalent to nearly 1.2 billion VND; Vo Thi Sau Primary School owes nearly 3,000 lessons, approximately 582 million VND.
These schools stated that, despite numerous requests to higher authorities, they have not yet received funding to pay their teachers.
Schools under the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, such as high schools and vocational training centers/continuing education centers, do not have any outstanding debts for overtime teaching fees.
Previously, on October 10th, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province issued a document requesting the Department of Education and Training to report on the issue of unpaid overtime pay for teachers. It also requested the Department of Education and Training to take the lead and coordinate with relevant units to immediately investigate and address the matter, ensuring the legitimate rights of the teaching staff.
According to Government Decrees 60/2021 and 111/2022, funding for overtime teaching is allocated in the annual recurrent expenditure budget of each unit. Schools must proactively balance their budgets to ensure proper payment and protect teachers' rights. However, to date, many schools in Dak Lak have not yet paid, causing concern among teachers.
