The Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has requested a report on the "Nurturing Children" project.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - To review and evaluate the implementation of the "Nurturing Children" project in Dak Lak province, the Department of Education and Training requests reports from local authorities.

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí15/12/2025

On the afternoon of December 15th, in an interview with Dan Tri newspaper, Mr. Luu Tien Quang, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, stated that the department had just sent a document to the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province reporting on the implementation of the "Nurturing Children" program.

According to Mr. Quang, previously, the "Sponsor Children" program was implemented in a number of schools and units through the District Education and Training Departments. After the district-level government was abolished, the funds for the project were transferred directly to the schools.

"Following reports from the press and social media about the 'Sponsor Children' project in the province, the Department is requesting reports from relevant units in order to promptly review and evaluate the effectiveness of this program's implementation," Mr. Quang said.

The Dak Lak Department of Education and Training requests that the relevant People's Committees of communes and wards report on the implementation of the "Nurturing Children" program in the 2025-2026 school year and previous school years (if any).

Local authorities must report on the number of students benefiting from the program, the number of teachers supported in cooking for students, the amount of funding provided in each phase and school year (clearly stating the amount received and not yet received by schools as of December 16th), and any proposals or recommendations.

As reported by Dan Tri newspaper , Cu M'lan Primary School (Ea Sup commune) has over 170 students who have received meal subsidies from the "Feeding Children" project for many years, at a rate of 8,500 VND per student. However, meal expenses for September and October, although approved by the project, have not been disbursed due to the project's account being temporarily suspended.

The delay in transferring the funds is causing concern among school leaders because the school is in debt for food supplies from its suppliers.

Following media coverage, on December 10th, representatives of the "Nurture Children" project transferred funds for meals to Cu M'lan Primary School to pay the food supplier.

According to our research, in Dak Lak, the "Nurturing Children" project is not only implemented in Ea Sup commune but also provides funding for several schools in Krong Buk district, Lak district, and the former Buon Ho town.

"Nuoi Em" (Feeding the Children) is a charity project founded by Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung in 2014, with the goal of providing nutritious lunches for students in mountainous regions.

Each benefactor can "adopt" a child through a small daily contribution, helping schools maintain their kitchens and significantly reducing student dropout rates.

Starting as a small group, the project has grown into an ecosystem supporting children in mountainous areas with various activities such as building schools, boarding houses, providing clean water, and libraries.

Recently, social media has been abuzz with information alleging a lack of transparency regarding the "Sponsor Children" project with its donors.

Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung announced the freezing of the project's account from 10 PM on December 7th, expected to last for 15 days.
