25 Miss Vietnam contestants honor Thang Long-Hanoi culture

After a month of practicing catwalk skills, choreography and demeanor, the jury of Miss Vietnam 2024 has just officially announced the top 25 best contestants (from 41 contestants of the final round) to enter the upcoming National Final night.

The final night of Miss Vietnam 2024 was held in Hanoi after a four-month journey across three regions of the country, from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hue, to the heroic land of Quang Tri and back to Hanoi.

Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2024, journalist Phung Cong Suong shared: “In the past few days, 41 Miss Vietnam contestants from all over the country have gathered in Hanoi, continuing their journey to explore and absorb the cultural values of the thousand-year-old capital - the City for Peace. So that in the future, no matter where you go, you will still remember Hanoi, love, cherish and be proud of the beloved capital.”

Sticking to the theme Radiant Vietnam and the four pillars of Beauty - Culture - Intelligence - Dedication, the final night brought a cultural space full of art through a stage inspired by the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.

In particular, this year’s contest has an additional name-calling section, to help contestants have the opportunity to express themselves in front of a national audience. Accordingly, the girls will show off their charm and gentleness in flowing ao dai, along with a name-calling section introducing themselves in the typical style of Miss Vietnam.

Unlike previous years, the Miss Vietnam 2024 final round is considered dramatic and attractive with two qualifying rounds. After the contestants performed in bikinis, the organizers announced the top 32 contestants who continued to the evening gown performance round, to find the top 25 contestants to enter the Miss Vietnam National Final round, which will take place in June in Hue City.

Sharing about the fact that the final round has two qualifying rounds as a strong innovation of the organizing committee, journalist Phung Cong Suong emphasized that this brings drama and competition through each round so that contestants as well as the audience can feel the pressure and competition in the final round. At the same time, this shows that the judges are very fair, objective and accurate in their scoring.

Candidates "make things difficult" for judges

Journalist Phung Cong Suong assessed that this year the contestants were all equal in terms of body shape, beauty, education, age, talent, etc. Therefore, finding the 25 outstanding contestants was really “difficult” for the judges. There were also many conflicting opinions within the judging panel because the boundaries were very thin.
