Monitoring data shows that at 6:00 a.m. on September 11, 2024, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 117.95 m, the inflow to the lake was 3,280 m 3 /s, and the discharge was 4,346 m 3 /s.

On the morning of September 11, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to implement the inter-reservoir operation process on the Red River basin in Decision No. 740/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company will close another bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 8:00 a.m. on September 11, 2024. The organization will closely monitor the development of floods, construction safety, flow to the reservoir, water levels upstream and downstream of the reservoir, and promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant agencies as prescribed.

Thus, as of the morning of September 11, 3 large hydroelectric reservoirs on the Red River basin including Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang and Thac Ba are maintaining a total of 9 spillway gates open. Of which, Hoa Binh hydroelectric plant has 1 gate, Tuyen Quang hydroelectric plant has 5 gates and Thac Ba hydroelectric plant has 3 gates.

On the same morning, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a dispatch to four provinces and cities: Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc and Hanoi, requesting to ensure safety when operating the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir, especially safety for works and activities along the river.
