The opening ceremony of the event took place on the morning of June 14 at the Galaxy Nguyen Du cinema complex (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), co-organized by the PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation, the S-Connect creative ecosystem, the Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library, THD Education Solutions Company, and the PASCH Initiative.
Hundreds of children and parents arrived very early, lining up to receive tickets and eagerly awaiting the opening film.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Thai Mai Lan, Director of the Goethe Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the message of this film festival is about something very special: "Be strong by being true to yourself."
During the time from now until August 15, children will have the opportunity to travel through exciting movies, meet little friends from faraway lands and even from their homeland Vietnam with many emotions: laughter, emotion and maybe even tears.

The 2025 Children's Film Festival, themed "Today's Little Heroes, Tomorrow's Global Citizens", introduces to the audience a diverse selection of films, from lively and inspiring short films to cute animated films, conveying familiar and meaningful messages.

The work screened at the opening event was Curious Tobi and the Adventures of Flying Rivers (Director: Johannes Honsell).

The 2025 Children's Film Festival will run until August 15 with completely free film screenings every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at the General Science Library (69 Ly Tu Trong, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, HCMC). In addition to film screenings, the event will also feature filmmaking workshops for children.
