5 people escaped when car was swept away by flood water in Tuyen Quang

(PLVN) - On the evening of June 22, on National Highway 2, passing through Thai Son commune, Ham Yen district (Tuyen Quang), a Santafe car was swept away by floodwaters.

At the time of the incident, there were 5 people in the car, including 3 adults and 2 children. Fortunately, all 5 victims were promptly assisted by local people and safely removed from the car.

According to the leader of Thai Son commune ( Tuyen Quang) , the initial cause was determined to be: The car was driven by a male driver, who had previously been instructed by local people to follow the bypass road in village 2 to avoid the flooded area. However, the male driver followed Google Maps and entered the bypass road in village 1, Thai Son commune, an area where the flood water rose high and flowed rapidly, causing the car carrying 5 people to be swept away by the flood water for several hundred meters.

The car was swept away by floodwaters about 200 meters from the original scene.

The car was then swept away by the water and stuck in a bamboo bush, about 200 meters from the initial scene. By the morning of June 23, when the rain had stopped and the water began to recede, authorities from Tuyen Quang province were present and deployed a plan to salvage the vehicle.
