In November 2024, floods on the Ve River caused landslides on the negative slope of the DT624B traffic road, at km19+800, in Thuan Hoa village (Hanh Thinh commune, Nghia Hanh district), encroaching deep into the roadbed. Over the past 6 months, repairs have not been thoroughly handled, causing traffic safety on the route.

At the scene, the landslide remains intact, 1/4 of the right lane of the road has flown into the river. Large pieces of concrete have cracked and fallen, many new cracks have appeared.
The damaged road makes it difficult for people to travel, although the locality has limited the number of vehicles traveling on this route. Provincial Road DT624B is more than 45km long, starting at the intersection with National Highway 1 in Duc Chanh Commune (Mo Duc) and ending at the intersection with National Highway 24 (Ba Lien Commune, Ba To District), which is the main traffic route.

The landslide situation after prolonged floods has not been repaired. Local people have repeatedly reported and requested authorities to survey and repair the traffic route along the Ve River.
To ensure traffic safety, Quang Ngai province authorities barricaded half of the road.

Mr. Mai Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Department of Construction, shared that landslides continue to occur. If not promptly addressed, this year's rainy season will continue to eat into the road surface, causing erosion and possibly breaking the road at this section.
In the immediate future, to ensure traffic safety on the route, the unit will organize security, traffic guidance and traffic flow. Barriers will be placed on the eroded road surface, signs will be placed to warn of narrow roads, warn of danger, limit load capacity and install night warning lights.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province said: In the long term, to ensure the safety of the construction, the safety of life and property for traffic participants passing through this location, it is extremely necessary to firmly handle the landslide location of the negative slope of the roadbed at Km 14+500, Provincial Road DT624B. The Department will report to the Provincial People's Committee on the damage situation and propose funding for the permanent repair.
