9 football teams participate in the U15 Football Tournament for ethnic minorities in Dien Bien province

On May 22, in Hanoi, the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province held a press conference to announce the U15 Football Tournament for Ethnic Minorities of Dien Bien province - HIUP Cup 2024.

The 2024 Dien Bien Province U15 Ethnic Minority Football Tournament will take place from June 8 to 15 at Dien Bien Province Stadium. The players participating in the tournament are all ethnic minority teenagers studying and living in Dien Bien Province, aged 13 to 15.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Phan Viet Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the Dien Bien Province U15 Ethnic Minority Football Tournament - HIUP Cup 2024 is a useful, exciting and meaningful sports playground in the summer for ethnic minority students, contributing to promoting the sports movement, enhancing physical development, stature and solidarity among ethnic groups in Dien Bien province. The tournament will be a premise for organizing larger tournaments and playgrounds, expanding the scale and area in the coming years... The Organizing Committee hopes that from this playground, young talents for the country's football will be discovered and nurtured.

The tournament has the participation of 9 football teams from districts and cities in the province, including: U15 Dien Bien Phu city 1, U15 Dien Bien Phu city 2, U15 Dien Bien district 1, U15 Dien Bien district 2, U15 Muong Lay town, U15 Tua Chua district, U15 Tuan Giao district, U15 Muong Ang district and U15 Dien Bien Dong.

According to the tournament rules, each team will be allowed to register 14 players, of which 7 players will play on the field and can be substituted without limit. The match will last 50 minutes (25 minutes/half and 10 minutes break between halves).

The prize for the winning team is a cup, a gold medal and 15 million VND. The runner-up team receives a silver medal and 10 million VND. The third-place team receives a bronze medal and 5 million VND. The fourth-place team receives a prize of 3 million VND.

In addition, the Organizing Committee will award the "Top Scorer", "Best Goalkeeper", and "Best Player of the Tournament" prizes./.
