However, the journey of women's health care in Vietnam still has many challenges.
Challenges in women's health care in Vietnam
According to information given at the Congress of the Vietnam Association for Menopausal Women's Health Care (VN) held on November 9, 2025 in Hanoi, there are currently about 13 million women in pre-menopause and menopause, increasing by about 200,000 people each year. Of these, about 20% have disorders that require medical intervention, but many women still silently endure this stage due to lack of information and fear of going to the doctor.
The Ministry of Health also recorded that 90% of Vietnamese women of reproductive age have suffered from gynecological diseases, with the number of new cases increasing by 15-27% each year and showing a clear trend of getting younger. Non-communicable diseases such as gestational diabetes are also on the rise. Lack of scientific knowledge and psychological fear cause many women to miss the opportunity to detect serious diseases early, negatively affecting their health and quality of life.
Lack of scientific knowledge or psychological reluctance to go for check-ups causes many women to miss the opportunity to detect serious diseases early. In fact, many women in Vietnam are still afraid of regular gynecological examinations or early screening for reproductive diseases. Meanwhile, diseases such as endometriosis, hormonal disorders or gynecological diseases are increasingly common, if detected late, they can cause long-term health effects.

Taking care of women's health requires persistent cooperation from the community, the health sector, businesses, women themselves and their families.
Addressing these challenges requires close coordination between the community, the health sector, businesses and families to improve the quality of health care and empower women to proactively protect and manage their own health.
