AI Co-Innovation helps develop specialized generative artificial intelligence solutions

On May 28, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that at the recent SAP Sapphire event, AWS and SAP launched the new AI Co-Innovation Program, an AI co-creation program that helps partners develop applications and artificial intelligence agents to help customers quickly solve real-time business challenges.

Many organizations see the potential of generative AI to transform their business, but they don’t know where to start. By combining advanced AI technologies with enterprise resource planning (ERP) data from critical systems, businesses can unlock valuable business value. For example, generative AI can optimize delivery routes, predict potential supply chain impacts, or build accurate financial forecasts.

The AI Co-Innovation Program represents the companies’ shared vision to help partners identify, build, and deploy generative AI applications that align with their ERP applications. By combining SAP’s enterprise technology with AWS’s generative AI services, along with the deep expertise of both parties, including teams of AI experts, consultants, and solution architects, the program will deliver a comprehensive solution to support customers in their implementation journey.

AI Co-Innovation will include dedicated engineering resources, cloud service credits, and more to support the development, testing, and deployment of specialized generative AI applications.

The AI Co-Innovation Program is an important next step, giving organizations the security and flexibility to build generative AI applications with Amazon Bedrock so they can analyze and act on their most important SAP data, said Ruba Borno, Vice President, Partners and Experts at AWS.

“This will help customers transform decades of accumulated business information into actionable insights, accelerating their journey to becoming agile, data-driven organizations,” said Ruba Borno.

“Through the AI Co-Innovation Program with AWS, we are helping businesses solve their most complex operational challenges quickly and accurately,” said Philipp Herzig, CTO and Chief AI Officer at SAP.

“By combining the power of our fully integrated SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), our deep business process expertise, and AWS’ comprehensive generative AI capabilities, partners can now create specialized AI agents to solve their most pressing challenges, such as identifying financial anomalies in real time to automatically optimize supply chains in the face of disruptions,” added Philipp Herzig.

The program also enables partners to rapidly build and scale generative AI applications using the latest generative AI tools and services from Amazon Bedrock, including large language models (LLMs) such as Amazon Nova and Anthropic Claude in AI Foundation on the SAP BTP platform.

In addition, this announcement also expands the scope of cooperation between AWS and SAP to support customers, including Hyundai, Moderna, and Zurich, to modernize and migrate SAP applications to AWS to take advantage of the availability and flexibility of cloud computing.
