Add HAGL's favorite opponent
The 2-1 victory over The Cong Viettel in the 8th round of V-League solved many problems for HAGL Club. First, they significantly improved their score, they caught up with the 2 teams right above them on the rankings, SLNA and Da Nang (each team currently has 6 points). Second, the spirit of the mountain town team has improved significantly. At this time, HAGL players have the belief that they are capable of winning the V-League.

Will HAGL continue to win in V-League?

In the 9th round taking place tomorrow (October 31), HAGL will host Nam Dinh at home in Pleiku (Gia Lai). This is another great opportunity for HAGL to win all 3 points. Nam Dinh is not in good form, leading to them having to part ways with coach Vu Hong Viet. The spirit of the team from Thanh Nam is also not high.
In terms of playing style, Nam Dinh has quite similar features to The Cong Viettel, from which HAGL can hope to continue winning. Nam Dinh is the current V-League champion, in any situation, this team is still rated higher than HAGL. Normally, in a match between a top team and a bottom team, the top team like Nam Dinh will tend to play offensively against the bottom team like HAGL. If they lose, Nam Dinh is at high risk of relegation. Of course, being at the bottom of the rankings, if they lose, HAGL will really be in crisis.
Develop your strong playing style
Defensive counter-attacks are HAGL's forte. Under Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh, HAGL is usually only afraid of teams that play slowly and actively keep the ball, but HAGL is not afraid of teams that actively push up their formation to attack. The more the opponent plays offensively, the more chances HAGL has in counter-attacks.

Goalkeeper Trung Kien is still the mainstay of HAGL's defense.

That was the method that HAGL used to overcome The Cong Viettel in the previous round. Especially in the situation of increasing the score to 2-0: the ball was passed by a HAGL player to Ryan Ha, before the Vietnamese-American striker of the mountain town team broke the opponent's offside trap, then kicked the ball into The Cong Viettel's net in a face-to-face situation with the goalkeeper.
Even the weapon that Nam Dinh team has been waiting for the most since the beginning of the tournament, the 2.06 m tall striker Kyle Hudlin, may not be able to trouble HAGL's defense. In this defense, HAGL has central defenders Dinh Quang Kiet (1.95 m), Jairo (1.90 m) and Nguyen Van Trieu (1.88 m), along with goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien (1.91 m) who is very good at defending high balls. Therefore, Kyle Hudlin is not sure to win against HAGL's defenders in aerial battles.
HAGL has many premises to aim for the second victory since the beginning of V-League 2025-2026. If they win against Nam Dinh in round 9, the mountain town team will temporarily escape the danger zone. The upcoming match will therefore be a great opportunity for HAGL to accumulate points for the next stage of the tournament. Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and HAGL players need to know how to take advantage of the current opportunities.
