When artificial intelligence touches human emotions
In the past, to create a complete song, an artist needed a whole team: musician, singer, studio, producer. But now, with just a laptop and a few AI tools like Suno, Udio, Voicemod or Soundful, anyone can write music, arrange music, and even create their own vocals.
No longer limited by music theory knowledge, many young people have found new joys: writing music with commands, creating melodies from emotions, and letting the computer sing for them.
Many people used to think that AI could not have a “soul” and could not create heart-touching music . But the young generation of Vietnam is proving otherwise.
On social platforms, songs created by AI have begun to appear but with a very Vietnamese sound: gentle, profound and close. There are high school students using AI to compose songs for their classmates; there are groups of technology students collaborating with art students to do the project “AI tells stories through music”; there are indie groups creating “virtual” music inspired by Vietnamese folk tales.
Golden opportunity for Vietnamese creative generation
Vietnam is witnessing a generation of multidisciplinary creatives – where artists learn to code, and engineers learn to tell stories. At universities, many art-tech clubs have been established. They experiment together: AI creates music, students direct, groups of friends create images, and combine them into videos, short films or digital performances. Young people are not only keeping up with the world , but are also ready to redefine how art is made.
That is also the spirit that Vietnam AI Contest 2025 aims for. With themes such as AIWS Film Park and AIWS Angel, the contest not only encourages contestants to program or research AI, but also inspires the desire to turn technology into a tool for storytelling, connection and artistic creation.
If AIWS Angel honors “technological angels” accompanying humans, AIWS Film Park opens a space where AI and art intersect - from scriptwriting, film editing to soundtrack creation.
Music of the future - where humans and machines sing together
The world has seen virtual artists perform in front of millions of people, or “AI co-composed” songs that have made it to the top of the Billboard charts. But what makes Vietnam different is the fusion: young people do not see AI as a replacement for art, but as a co-composer.
Online, “human x AI collaboration” videos made by young Vietnamese are becoming increasingly popular. One person writes the lyrics, one creates the melody, the AI creates the arrangement, and then they sing together. The result is simple yet emotional songs – a “hybrid” music between humans and technology.
Many experts call this the “third era” of music: from live music, to digital music, and now smart music. In this era, emotions are still at the center, but technology is the wings that help emotions fly further.
Some also argue that the rise of AI in Vietnamese music is not something to worry about, but a sign of a freer, more diverse and more experimental generation of creators. From classrooms to stages, from coffee shops to social networks, music is being “rewritten” every day by young people who dare to blend their voices with technology.
“Vietnam AI Contest 2025 is where those dreams can come true. Whether you are an engineering student or a music lover, this contest is an invitation for you to try, create and tell your story in a new language - the language of artificial intelligence. AI can create music, sing music, even suggest melodies that millions of people love. But what makes music meaningful is still the emotions and human stories conveyed in each note,” said a representative of the organizing committee.
