Construction of the Red Scarf house for Vo Tan Phat (Ngai Loi Primary School, Loi Binh Nhon Commune, Tan An City) started
1. Recently, the Provincial Youth Union organized the groundbreaking ceremony to build a Red Scarf house for Dang Nguyen Tuan Tai (a student at Phuoc Vinh Tay Primary and Secondary School, Can Giuoc District). His family is near-poor, has no land for production, and has an unstable income. His mother is a housewife and works as a hired student shuttle bus driver to earn money; his father is a factory worker, and his income is not enough to cover the family's living expenses.
For many years, Tai’s family lived in a small, cramped, and seriously degraded thatched house. Every rainy season, the roof leaked and the walls were crooked, making the whole family feel insecure. They longed for a decent roof, but due to difficult economic conditions, that dream remained far away.
Despite his difficult family situation, Tai still tries hard to study and has been an excellent student for many years. He actively participates in movements and is always ready to help his friends with their studies.
Understanding Tai's situation, the Provincial Youth Union mobilized and supported 80 million VND to build a Red Scarf house with an area of 80m². This is not only a gift of material significance but also a motivation to help Tai continue to nurture his belief and will to overcome difficulties and excel in his studies .
Tai expressed: “I look forward to the day I move into my new house and arrange my study corner myself - something I have longed for. I will try my best to study well so as not to disappoint my parents, teachers and the kind-hearted people who have helped my family.”
2. Vo Tan Phat (student of Ngai Loi Primary School, Loi Binh Nhon Commune, Tan An City) also has a particularly difficult family situation. Having no land for production, his parents work as workers with unstable income.
Mr. Vo Minh Tam - Phat's father, said: "The old house was built nearly 20 years ago, so it is rotten and leaks when it rains. Because our family is still poor, my wife and I only use makeshift props to get by, not daring to dream of having a solid house. Seeing my wife and children living in a makeshift house, worrying about every sunny and rainy season, I feel so sorry for them!"
In response to Phat’s family’s situation, in April 2025, the Provincial Youth Union supported 80 million VND to build a Red Scarf house for him. The house not only helps his family escape the “rain and sun” but also opens up hope for a brighter life.
It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, the Provincial Youth Union will support the construction of 5 Red Scarf houses for students facing housing difficulties in the province. Each house is worth 80 million VND from the mobilization and contributions of team members and students at school unions.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union Council - Pham Van Hau said: “The Red Scarf House project is a major and meaningful activity of the Youth Union, demonstrating the spirit of “mutual love and support” in the community. Thereby, helping children have a stable place to live, giving them more confidence to excel in their studies and life”.
The Red Scarf House not only spreads love and community responsibility among the young generation but also receives consensus and positive response from schools, parents and local authorities. Thereby, it contributes to the good implementation of the Party and State's policies on social security, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, and providing practical care for poor, near-poor and households facing housing difficulties./.
