GD&TĐ - The Department of Education and Training of An Giang province guides the implementation of local education content in general education institutions.

The Department of Education and Training of An Giang province has just issued an Official Dispatch guiding the implementation of teaching and learning organization, testing and assessment of Local Education Content in general education institutions in the province for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, for Primary level, teachers will coordinate the use of two sets of Local Education Materials of An Giang (before the merger) and Kien Giang (before the merger) to select, integrate and incorporate appropriate content into the teaching program of grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ensuring effectiveness and consistency.

Depending on each set of textbooks and actual conditions at each school, and according to the content of each subject/educational activity, teachers can flexibly choose appropriate content to teach.

For junior high school and high school levels, the Local Education Content subject focuses on basic issues of culture, history, geography, economics , society, environment and career orientation. The topics are integrated and linked to many subjects such as: Geography, History, Literature, Civic Education/Economic and Legal Education, Arts (Music and Fine Arts).

Total teaching time is 35 periods/school year, distributed to each grade level according to subject topics including: Geography (6 periods); History (6 periods); Literature (9 periods); Civic Education/Economic and Legal Education (6 periods); Music (4 periods); Fine Arts (4 periods).

Based on the Local Education Document, the school principal assigns teachers to teach topics appropriate to the teachers' abilities and may assign a few teachers to cover all grades.

At the same time, the Local Education Content Teaching Plan is built according to each topic in accordance with the school's teaching organization conditions and the teaching plan of related subjects, creating favorable conditions for students to connect and apply the knowledge content learned in the subjects with local practices.

For schools that have organized the teaching of Local Education Content from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the principal will assign teachers to teach Local Education Content to rebuild the curriculum distribution based on the teaching content agreed upon by the Department of Education and Training, except for the content and lessons taught from the beginning of the year.

Regarding the testing and assessment of the Local Education Content subject at the junior high and high school levels, it is assessed by comments at 1 (one) of 2 (two) levels: Passed, Not Passed (according to Circular No. 22/2021/TT-BGDĐT). Specifically, in each semester, 2 regular assessments, 1 mid-term assessment and 1 final assessment are selected to be recorded in the Student Monitoring and Assessment Book.

Teachers who teach a subject must conduct regular tests and assessments of that subject according to the plan. The principal assigns one teacher among the teachers assigned to teach to preside over the subject, and in agreement with the remaining teachers, decides to choose 2 regular tests and assessments per semester and organizes the implementation of regular tests and assessments according to regulations.

In addition to general guidance, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province has issued specific appendices for each level and grade according to the unified adjustment documents after the merger.
