"In response to continued unlawful and reckless Houthi attacks on vessels transiting the Red Sea and surrounding waterways, the armed forces of the United States and the United Kingdom, with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand, conducted additional strikes on eight targets in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen," a joint statement issued by the UK Prime Minister's Office said.

“These attacks are designed to disrupt and degrade the Houthis’ ability to continue their attacks on global commerce and innocent sailors from around the world , while avoiding escalation,” the statement added.

In another development that shows European countries are very busy with wars around the world, German Minister Boris Pistorius has just announced that he will send 6 helicopters to Ukraine from his country's military warehouse and they will be delivered from the second quarter of 2024.

The helicopters, known as “Sea King” helicopters, will help Ukraine do everything from monitoring the Black Sea to transporting troops, Mr Pistorius said. This is the third time Germany has sent helicopters to Ukraine.

The German defense minister spoke about this at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, where more than 50 countries and organizations plan operations on Ukraine's front lines. Germany and France have jointly led this air defense alliance since November 2023.
