Apple has released its first-ever App Store Transparency Report, covering its largest app store for iOS and iPadOS devices. The most notable information mentioned is the removal of apps that violated Apple's regulations in 2022.
Accordingly, Apple's app store has 1,783,232 applications. In 2022, Apple's team rejected nearly 1.7 million app applications from the App Store due to numerous fraud and privacy-related issues. The company's app review process detected applications using malicious code capable of stealing users' login credentials from third-party services. Some applications disguised themselves as harmless financial management platforms but had the potential to transform into a completely different application.
In 2022, Apple removed 186,195 apps, mostly in the games category (38,883 apps) and utilities category (20,045 apps). Vietnam had 8,462 apps removed, with the most common reason being violations of design guidelines (4,657 apps) – ranking sixth globally .
