According to Apple's annual report on anti-fraud on the App Store released on May 27, over the past 5 years, the company has successfully prevented more than 9 billion USD in fraudulent transactions on the platform, of which more than 2 billion USD was in 2024 alone.

The App Store now averages more than 813 million visits per week, a number that reflects the platform's essential role in the Apple ecosystem.

The App Store not only connects users to a huge app store, but is also one of the “front lines” in Apple's chain of controlling and preventing digital fraud.

Last year alone, Apple locked more than 146,000 app developer accounts for signs of fraud and rejected an additional 139,000 new developer applications.

At the same time, the company also rejected more than 711 million user account creation requests and disabled nearly 129 million customer accounts to prevent malicious and potentially high-risk activities.

Over the past month, Apple said it has blocked nearly 4.6 million installations or launches of unauthorized apps distributed outside the App Store or licensed third-party platforms.

Before being released on the App Store, every app must go through a review process conducted by Apple's App Review team, which combines manual review and automated systems to detect and deal with apps that may be harmful to users.

In 2024, Apple reviewed more than 7.7 million apps submitted to the App Store, rejecting more than 1.9 million for failing to meet its security, reliability, and user experience standards, including privacy violations or signs of fraud.

Also last year, App Review removed more than 37,000 apps for fraudulent activity, rejected more than 320,000 apps for copying content from other apps, and more than 400,000 apps for privacy violations.

Additionally, Apple detected nearly 4.7 million stolen credit cards and blocked more than 1.6 million accounts from making further transactions.

In a context where online fraud is increasingly sophisticated, from fake apps to stealing customer information, efforts like Apple's are seen as an important part of building a safe digital environment./.
