Argentina faces the risk of a gas crisis

Argentina is facing a gas crisis after the government decided to temporarily stop supplying gas to industrial plants and compressed natural gas (CNG) stations due to fuel shortages.

According to Bloomberg, the decision was made on May 28 in the context of Argentina recording unusually cold weather in May, a month before the country in the Southern Hemisphere officially enters winter.

Due to the supply shortage, the Argentine government has asked distributors to prioritize the supply of gas as heating fuel to households, schools and hospitals, while limiting gas supply to industrial zones, thermal power plants and CNG service stations across the country.
