Atletico wins important victory, PSG loses shockingly to Brazilian representative

(Dan Tri) - In the second round of Group B of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the US on the morning of June 20, Atletico Madrid defeated Seattle Sounders (US) 3-1 while Paris Saint Germain surprisingly lost to Botafogo (Brazil) 0-1.

However, Atletico quickly regained the upper hand and in the 55th minute, Barrios scored to make it 3-1, completing his double. The Spanish representative defended firmly and secured a 3-1 victory, thereby keeping alive their hope of advancing to the group stage.

In the match that followed, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) was rated higher in the confrontation with Brazilian representative, Botafogo. Coach Luis Enrique fielded the strongest lineup with stars such as Hakimi, Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Kvaratskhelia.

However, the Champions League champions played poorly and missed a series of chances. Botafogo played brilliantly and in the 36th minute, Igor Jesus' shot deflected off a PSG defender's leg, leaving goalkeeper Donnarumma helpless, bringing home the only goal of the match.

PSG tried to attack in the remaining minutes but could not find an equalizer. Botafogo maintained their 1-0 victory and topped Group B with 6 points, while both PSG and Atletico were behind with 3 points.
