Attending the congress were comrades: Luong Quoc Doan, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Le Quang Tung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; and 350 official delegates, representing all walks of life in Can Tho city.
The Congress elected 116 members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, term I, 2025-2030. Of which, the Standing Committee consists of 8 members, including the Chairman and 7 Vice Chairmen. Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, was trusted to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City.
During the past term, the Fatherland Front system at all levels in Can Tho City has promoted its core role in gathering the great solidarity of the people, effectively implementing many patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns. Notably, the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" has supported the construction and repair of 11,462 houses with a total cost of nearly 600 billion VND; the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" has been widely spread, contributing to bringing 59/72 communes to new rural standards, 13/59 communes to advanced standards, and 2/13 communes to model standards.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", the congress determined the goal: "Promoting the strength of great national unity; enhancing the core role of the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations; determined to build Can Tho into a civilized and modern one, the driving force of the region".
Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Luong Quoc Doan praised the achievements of the Can Tho City Fatherland Front in the past term, and at the same time requested that all levels of the Front continue to promote the spirit of innovation, strongly arouse patriotism, self-reliance and aspiration for development.
He requested that the Fatherland Front at all levels need to propagate and mobilize people in a comprehensive, focused, and practical manner; improve the actual effectiveness of emulation movements with the motto "Speak the truth, do the truth, be effective, and benefit the people".
Some specific targets of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho city, term I, 2025 - 2030
- Implement housing construction for 100% of poor and near-poor households that are eligible to build houses.
- Ensure that 100% of poor and near-poor households receive support, assistance, visits, and gifts from the Fatherland Front at all levels on holidays and Tet.
- Every year, each residential area has at least 1 typical project or work that contributes to building and serving the community; 1 model of socio -economic development.
- Each commune and ward organizes at least 3 monitoring and criticism programs.
- 100% of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations develop programs and plans to organize the "Month of listening to people speak" activities.
- 100% of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards have deployed the use of the "Digital Front" software, with 80% of work records processed online...
