In the November 2 (local time) episode of the comedy variety show Saturday Night Live (SNL), actress Maya Rudolph played Kamala Harris, while the US vice president played his own reflection in the mirror. “I wish I could talk to someone who has been in my shoes. You know, a woman of color, of South Asian descent running for president. And it better be from the Bay Area,” actress Rudolph, who plays Harris, said to her reflection in the mirror. “You and I are the same, honey,” the “original” Harris added amid cheers and applause from the audience. The US vice president then mocked former US President Donald Trump, when Trump struggled to open the door of a garbage truck during an appearance in Wisconsin on October 31. “I’m here to remind you that you can do it. Because you can do something that your opponent can’t do. You can open the door (of the garbage truck),” Harris said on SNL on November 2. Rudolph also brought a funny joke to the audience by imitating Harris’s signature laugh, causing her to ask: “I don’t laugh like that.” Previously, when playing Harris on SNL shows, Rudolph made the audience laugh comfortably when teasing Harris and the actor playing President Joe Biden. Previously, Trump had made sarcastic comments after it was reported that Harris would make a surprise appearance on a variety show on Saturday. “Kamala Harris has nothing to offer the American people. Before Harris, many politicians have appeared on this show, such as former President Trump, former President Barack Obama, and former First Lady Hillary Clinton. According to the New York Times , presidential candidates appearing on this program is like a lucky trip, "asking for luck", similar to the appearance of Mr. Trump or Mr. Obama.
