Turning Vietnam into a regional and world aviation hub
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman and General Director of Sovico Group, said that in the context of current economic challenges, it is necessary to create conditions for aviation to quickly attract international tourism , trade and investment to Vietnam.
"Let's turn Vietnam into a regional and world aviation hub. With its favorable location, let's urgently invest in and upgrade the international airport system to become an international passenger and cargo transit hub like Bangkok, Singapore, Korea, etc.," said Ms. Thao.

Vietjet representative added that Vietnam is a center for training human resources and aviation technology. Vietnam has the conditions and capacity to build a hangar system as infrastructure for a regional aircraft technical service center at Vietnamese airports. Vietjet operates more than 100 aircraft but does not have a hangar in Vietnam. Hundreds of Vietjet technical staff are performing aircraft technical maintenance at Vientiane airport in a joint venture with Lao Airlines, which is quite expensive.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese enterprises have begun to produce aircraft components. With a large number of aircraft orders, Vietnam has the conditions to become a center for manufacturing components and assembling aircraft, just as China is producing Boeing aircraft components and assembling Airbus aircraft.
Automobile manufacturing center for international brands in Vietnam

Regarding supporting industry, to invest in this field, it requires large output and a lot of technology. Currently, supporting industry is available in many industries. "We are continuing to deploy industrial zones for mechanical manufacturing supporting industry in Vietnam, because currently FDI countries bring a lot of assembly and transfer to Vietnam, of which, we produce 35-40% of components, spare parts...", Mr. Tran Ba Duong said.
In the field of auto components, in 2024, Truong Hai sold to domestic auto manufacturers and assemblers 13 million USD, and is expected to increase next year.
Truong Hai representative proposed for supporting industry, hoping that the Government will consider and pay attention. Currently, the mechanical field is related to life, simple labor, suitable for a large number of workers, this is an opportunity to develop basic industry in Vietnam as well as export.
Applying the free trade model
Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of Sun Group, suggested that it is necessary to institutionalize the selection of strategic investors according to the mechanism of assigning tasks to private enterprises with sufficient capacity to implement key projects of socio-economic development gravity. Along with this selection mechanism, there should also be specific mechanisms attached.
The Chairman of Sun Group proposed considering applying the free trade model in potential coastal tourism areas such as Phu Quoc to develop and attract investment. "With a special mechanism following the free economic model, Phu Quoc will certainly become a new tourist and resort destination in the world," said Mr. Truong.
Regarding the mechanism for the foreign tourist market, Mr. Truong proposed that ministries and branches continue to implement the Prime Minister's direction to expand the list of unilateral visa exemptions, pilot short-term visa exemptions for tourists from a number of large-scale, high-spending markets; issue long-term visas, multiple entries for segments from India, China, the United States, Europe, etc.
“Make in Vietnam” reaches international level
Mr. Le Van Kiem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KN Group, said that the company is aiming to build a new generation of modern industrial centers with full facilities for workers and experts working in industrial parks. From there, Vietnam can master strong technology development and centers for vocational training, innovation and research and development of convenient and modern transportation.
Mr. Kiem hopes that with the support of the Government, there will be more and more high-tech products with the Make in Vietnam brand reaching international standards.
"We hope the Government will have policies to encourage breakthrough investment, ensuring competitiveness compared to other countries in the region to attract multinational strategic investors, especially in high-tech fields such as semiconductors, AI...", Mr. Le Van Kiem expressed.
