(Dan Tri Newspaper) - On March 29th, nearly a month after its release, Hoa Minzy's music video "Bac Bling" officially reached 100 million views on YouTube, marking an impressive milestone in the singer's career.
This success not only confirms the singer's appeal but also sparks curiosity among many: With 100 million views on YouTube, how many billions of Vietnamese dong has Hoa Minzy earned?
How much does Hoa Minzy earn with 100 million views on YouTube?
Speaking with a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper , media expert Hong Quang Minh explained that YouTube pays artists based on CPM (Cost Per Mille - the cost per 1,000 views).
However, only views that include ads (Ad-Enabled Views) generate revenue, typically accounting for 40-60% of the total.
In Vietnam, CPM typically ranges from $0.50 to $1.50 per 1,000 views. After YouTube retains 45% of the advertising revenue, artists receive the remaining 55% (actual revenue earned per 1,000 views).

Nearly 30 days after its release, Hoa Minzy's music video "Bac Bling" has reached 100 million views (Image: Screenshot).
With 100 million views, experts estimate Bắc Bling 's YouTube Ads revenue to be between 330 and 990 million VND, depending on the actual CPM.
Mr. Minh commented: "Considering the international reach of the 'Bac Bling' music video with views from markets such as Australia, Singapore, and South Korea… the CPM could be higher, pushing revenue to a maximum of nearly 1 billion VND. However, this is only a part of the financial picture."
Besides YouTube, Bac Bling also earns revenue from digital music platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Zing MP3.
According to this media expert's analysis, the pay per stream is as follows: Spotify ($0.003-$0.005), Apple Music ($0.007-$0.01), YouTube Music ($0.002-$0.004), while Zing MP3 and Nhaccuatui are usually very low and negligible.
"With a music video as viral as 'Bac Bling ,' the total number of streams across platforms could reach 30-50% of the total YouTube views."
Assuming 40 million streams from 100 million views, estimated streaming revenue would be around 3.3-4.2 billion VND, with Apple Music and Spotify contributing the most.
In summary, with 100 million views on YouTube, Hoa Minzy could earn 3.63-5.19 billion VND from both YouTube Ads and digital music platforms. Of that, revenue from digital music accounts for 70-80%," expert Hong Quang Minh said.
Mr. Minh also believes that the success of the "Bac Bling" music video opens up other sources of income such as sponsorships, brand advertising contracts, or shows – real "gold mines" for an artist after creating a big hit.
This expert assessed: " Bac Bling 's success lies not only in direct revenue but also in brand value, which brings opportunities for long-term cooperation."

Hoa Minzy: "I don't use gimmicks to increase views."
In a talk show on Hanoi Television, Hoa Minzy shared her honest thoughts about the music video "Bac Bling".
For Hoa Minzy, this music video is priceless, immeasurable in monetary terms, because there are things she can't pay for with money.
"If I had to give a specific number, I could say it's equivalent to the value of a luxury apartment. However, what I cherish most is the cultural significance and the emotional connection I have to my hometown of Bac Ninh ," she said.
The singer of "Can't Be Together Forever" also affirmed that she only releases a product when she is confident in its quality and its ability to achieve high rankings on music charts.
That's also why, in recent years, the top spot seems to have become a familiar "territory" for this female singer born in the 1990s.
However, when asked about her YouTube earnings, Hoa Minzy frankly stated: "The money I earn from YouTube is insignificant compared to what I've invested."
This shows that Hoa Minzy spares no expense in investing in high-quality products.

Hòa Minzy also emphasized that she doesn't use any tricks to increase views.
She explained: "If you buy views, the product won't be able to make it into the trending music charts. YouTube also has a very strict mechanism for filtering out fake views, and it will deduct any inaccurate views."
"The numbers—3 million views on the first day, 3 million views on the second day, and 10 million views on the third day, and then even higher in the following days—prove that my views are completely organic."
Looking back on her 10-year career, Hoa Minzy doesn't hesitate to share about the difficult times. She said that in the past, she might have sold her house, car, and everything else to fund her projects. However, now that her financial situation is stable, she wants to invest even more heavily to ensure each project is meticulously crafted and worthy of her audience's affection.
"Money has never hindered my creativity and my desire for success. I wouldn't compromise myself for money, but I will use all the resources I have to create the best music," Hoa Minzy said.
For her, success is not just about money, but also about the love from the audience and the opportunity to elevate her image. The singer expressed: "I only hope to be an A-lister in the hearts of the audience; I am happy whatever level you recognize me at."
The cultural value of "North Bling"
During the program, Hoa Minzy also talked about the cultural significance of Kinh Bac that was incorporated into the music video.
"Bac Bling" is not just a song, but also a cultural bridge connecting the Kinh Bac region with the audience, especially the younger generation. Hoa Minzy shared that, for the people of Bac Ninh, those melodies are not bland at all, but rather the embodiment of the essence of their homeland - an enduring culture that will never fade.
The music video vividly recreates images of the traditional four-panel dress, conical hat, Do Temple, Dau Pagoda, and traditional festivals, creating a vibrant yet familiar picture of the homeland.
Hòa Minzy's meticulousness is also evident in her refusal of sponsored advertisements for her music videos.
"My music productions are all unsponsored, so there's definitely no time to stop and focus on advertising," she said.
Hòa Minzy wants her audience to fully enjoy her work, and only when the audience loves it will brands approach her. For her, success doesn't come from luck but is the result of careful planning and relentless effort.

The music video "Bac Bling" is the culmination of immense dedication, from the participation of "the king of Northern comedy" Xuan Hinh, the talent of musician Tuan Cry - who provided the foundational song, to the unique concept of director Nhu Dang. Above all, she cherishes the solidarity of the people of Bac Ninh and audiences everywhere.
"All of this has made the product not just music, but something with very high cultural value," Hoa Minzy proudly said.
Bac Bling demonstrates that combining modern music with traditional cultural elements can create unique musical products.
Furthermore, Bac Bling 's success also contributes to affirming the position of Vietnamese music in the international market.
The fact that a musical product deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture has achieved impressive success on online platforms demonstrates the potential for development of Vietnamese music.
