Hot weather in the North, widespread rain in the South

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (September 8) Hanoi and the northern provinces will be sunny and hot, with thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

This afternoon and evening, the Central Central and Southern regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 80mm.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

From around September 9-12, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be widespread showers and thunderstorms (storms will occur mainly in the late afternoon and evening); in the Northern provinces, there is a possibility of widespread thunderstorms, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places.
