Attending the event were Mr. Nghiem Xuan Huong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of a number of departments, branches, agencies, units and localities in the province; representatives of bookstores and a large number of youth union members and students.
In his opening speech, Mr. Khong Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized: In recent years, Bac Giang has achieved many positive results in developing a reading culture. The library system from the province to the district and in schools has received increasing attention and investment. Many exciting and diverse activities have been organized such as: Book Festival, Reading Week, Exchange with Authors, Book Review Contest, Friendly Library, Community Bookshelf, etc., creating a widespread influence among all classes of people, especially the young generation.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is organized annually by Bac Giang , becoming a "festival for book lovers". This year, Bac Giang continues to organize Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day with the message: "Reading culture - Connecting the community", "Entering the era of national growth with books", "Reading - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity".
On this occasion, many activities took place such as: Displaying, exhibiting, introducing books, newspapers and documents on national history and culture; talking about books; displaying publications praising the Party, Uncle Ho, homeland, country, culture and people of Bac Giang; achievements in economic , cultural and social development of the province. Thereby, practically spreading the reading culture to all classes of people in the province; affirming the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community.

The Organizing Committee of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Bac Giang province calls on all levels, sectors, agencies, units, schools and people to continue to join hands to build and develop a reading culture; continue to arouse and spread the love of books, forming reading habits among all classes of people. In which, the cultural sector focuses on solutions to develop a reading culture and the library system in the province; accelerate the progress of digital library transformation; effectively implement the mobile library model to bring books to remote areas, remote areas, and ethnic minority areas in the province.
Schools should promote the construction of classroom bookcases and friendly libraries, organize more reading activities, write reviews, and discuss books to foster a love and habit of reading in the young generation. Parents are role models for their children, inspiring them to read every day; pay attention to contributing to and building libraries and bookcases for their families, clans, and communities. Each individual needs to maintain the habit of reading, nurture a love for books, and actively respond to, accompany, and support activities to develop a reading culture.

Here, delegates cut the ribbon to open the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025. At the same time, the online reading contest organized by the Provincial Youth Union from February 2025 with the theme "Uncle Ho with children, Bac Giang children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings" was awarded. The Organizing Committee of the contest received 1,650 entries and selected to award prizes to 30 outstanding individuals. Of which, two individual First Prizes were awarded to Nguyen Quynh Nhi, class 8A, Dai Lam Secondary School (Lang Giang); Nguyen Ngoc Linh Chi, class 4A4, Dong Thanh Primary School (Bac Giang City).
On this occasion, Bac Giang College donated 355 books and children's comics to poor children in the highlands through the "For the beloved highlands" Club. The provincial library donated 1,000 books to 10 libraries. ViZi Publishing and Education Joint Stock Company, Tan Viet Culture and Education Joint Stock Company, and Thuu tat Bon Phuong Bookstore donated hundreds of books to schools in the province.
