Bac Giang continues to promote the development of mass sports movements.

Implementing the plan to implement the Vietnam Sports Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, in the first months of 2025, the mass sports movement in Bac Giang province has made strong developments and achieved many positive results. Many types of sports organized have attracted a large number of people to participate in training. Sports activities have taken place enthusiastically, contributing to increasing the rate of people participating in regular sports training in the province.

Mass sports movement takes place vigorously

The campaign "All people practice physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho", associated with the movements "All people unite to build a cultural life", build urban civilization and build new rural areas, has been actively responded to by all levels and sectors in the province. Mass sports activities have been focused on developing with many forms, diverse and rich in content. Propaganda work on the role and significance of physical training and sports has been promoted. Thanks to that, the physical training and sports movement has attracted more and more people from all walks of life to participate in training, from teenagers, students, workers, civil servants - laborers, armed forces to the elderly. Training activities as well as sports competitions from urban to rural areas are organized regularly and always attract a large number of people from all walks of life to participate.

Tug of war - a popular national sport

The movement of “each person choosing at least one sport or suitable form of exercise” has received positive responses from all walks of life. Sports that are chosen by many people include: Walking, Aerobics, Soccer, Volleyball, Volleyball, Pickleball, Badminton, Cycling, Martial Arts, Swimming, etc.

To meet the people's need for physical training and sports, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other departments, branches and localities in the province always focus on investing in infrastructure development to ensure conditions for physical facilities and human resources for physical training and sports development. Mobilizing social resources to participate in building physical facilities, playgrounds, purchasing training equipment, establishing clubs and training sites, organizing grassroots sports tournaments...

In addition, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism actively coordinates with departments, branches and organizations to organize sports competitions to serve political tasks, important events of the country, celebrate the Party - celebrate Spring and major national holidays. Sports activities are organized in a variety of forms and rich in competition content, attracting a large number of people to participate.

Localities, agencies, units, and schools are interested in organizing sports competitions, sports festivals, Phu Dong Sports Festival, and Sports Congress to create motivation for enthusiastic competition and encourage and promote the movement of physical training and sports. In addition to organizing sports competitions in modern sports, the province also focuses on encouraging units and localities to organize sports competitions for ethnic groups in conjunction with preserving and developing ethnic sports and folk games suitable for the traditional culture of the locality such as: Ethnic wrestling, Tug of war, Stick pushing, Sack jumping, etc.

In March 2025 alone, mass sports activities were widely organized from the province to the grassroots level to practically celebrate major holidays such as: The 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025); 79th anniversary of the tradition of the Sports and Physical Training sector (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2025). In particular, the highlight is the organization of the "Olympic Running Day for the health of all people". The event was held in all districts and cities in the province, attracting a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students, union members, youth, police officers and soldiers in the province to participate.

Many missions will be deployed

According to the 2025-2030 plan, Bac Giang aims to have 40% of the population participating in regular physical training and sports; the rate of households practicing physical training and sports strives to reach 23% or more; 100% of district, town and city-level units, over 98% of commune, ward and town-level units organize regular sports festivals; over 85% of commune, ward and town-level units organize the Sports Month for Everyone and the Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People every year. 100% of schools have at least 01 extracurricular sports club and maintain regular activities; 90% of students meet the physical training standards and the physical fitness assessment and classification standards of students every year. 2,800-3,000 sports clubs and associations have been established...

To achieve this goal, according to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang province Truong Quang Hai: the province continues to pay attention to developing the sports movement in the area; focus on effectively implementing the Project "Overall development of physical strength and stature of Vietnamese people in the period 2011 - 2030 in Bac Giang province; Continue to effectively implement the Plan to organize sports activities for everyone and the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people in the period 2021 - 2030.

In addition, physical education and sports in schools should be strengthened, combining physical education with knowledge, ethics and life skills education, contributing to improving the health and stature of Bac Giang people to develop comprehensively in terms of intelligence and physical strength, meeting the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland. Specifically, schools should ensure the physical education curriculum according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The Department of Education and Training should regularly coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in searching for, nurturing and retaining talented people for high-performance sports in the province; directing relevant units to facilitate procedures and transfer and school admission records for athletes and students with sports talents when recruited to the provincial sports teams; creating favorable conditions for students to participate in provincial, national and international sports competitions; directing the implementation of extra points in high school graduation exams according to regulations for students with sports talents who achieve achievements.

Strengthen physical training and improve the health of officers and soldiers in the armed forces. Annually, organize physical training tests according to standards for 100% of the unit's staff. Agencies and units properly and fully implement the content and time of the training program and practice proficiently the morning exercises, unarmed martial arts, overcoming obstacles for physical training, applied swimming techniques, running for armed distances, closely combining training and extracurricular physical training, and marching training.

Regularly organize mass sports competitions and participate in the Army's sports festival and sports tournaments organized by the province. Maintain strict physical training routine with competitions in Football, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Armed Running, Martial Arts...

Pay attention to building a team of cadres, instructors, and sports collaborators from the province to the grassroots level, ensuring that they are good at professional skills, have solid knowledge and the ability to guide and mobilize all groups of people to participate in sports training and competitions. Along with the above activities, the province continues to promote the socialization of sports activities; encourage and create conditions for many organizations and individuals to actively participate in sports activities.
