Binh Duong's development strategy until 2045 is "From manufacturing factory to innovation zone - smart city - development for people."
Implementing Resolution 57 of the Politburo on promoting science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, Binh Duong has quickly developed a specific action program.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi, who is the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Science Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation, always emphasized: "If industry is the heart of Binh Duong, innovation is the coordinating brain. Science and technology must be considered as the driving factor for development, not simply a tool to support production."
Transforming growth model

At the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC) of Eastern International University, Vu Hai Van - a final year student majoring in electronic engineering is attentively adjusting the movement of an automated robot in production.
“It took me 2 semesters (about 6 months) to master the techniques, programming and operating the robot according to the set goals” - Van shared with eyes shining with confidence in her level.
“We chose to study here not because the tuition is cheap or close to home, but because the learning environment is very modern, able to catch up with world technology, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital. I hope to become a global citizen in the future - not only knowing how to work but also being creative and integrated,” said Van.
Hai Van is not an isolated case, even though he has not graduated yet, he already has a job. From a traditional industrial province, Binh Duong is gradually becoming a new land of technology, startups and innovation, with the goal of transforming the growth model and sustainable development.
According to the new orientation, the province will allocate at least 3% of the total budget for science, technology and innovation. At the same time, it will issue preferential policies to support businesses in digital transformation and automation; attract high-quality human resources for the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and electronics industry; prioritize land funds and financial resources for high-tech startups, innovation centers and new-generation technology.
Binh Duong has also built a priority technology portfolio, focusing on digital transformation, big data, new materials, biotechnology and renewable energy.
Fast-growing areas such as Binh Duong New City, Bau Bang... are oriented to become innovation zones, closely linked with the ecosystem of universities, research institutes and technology enterprises.
In a recent survey, representatives of several Taiwanese companies specializing in automation equipment stated that investors are looking for locations with modern infrastructure, stable robot operating environments, secure data, and conditions for international experts to live and work long-term. Binh Duong is gradually meeting those requirements.
Human-centered development
Binh Duong identifies people as the center of all development policies. Along with promoting modern technology and infrastructure, the province pays special attention to training digital human resources, developing practical education and building smart cities to serve the people.
To meet the requirements of modern industry, semiconductor industry and digital transformation, training institutions in Binh Duong are gradually adjusting their curriculum, focusing on developing high-quality technical human resources.

Within the engineering sector, many programs focus on in-depth training in electrical systems, smart grids, and renewable energy. Applications such as solar power, wind power, and power electronics are integrated to achieve sustainable development.
Some other industries focus on design, manufacturing, energy integration and CNC technology practice, serving the needs of precision manufacturing. Fields such as microchip design, embedded systems, high-frequency engineering.
In particular, the mechatronics and automation control industry is considered the focus of the smart industrial strategy, focusing on training in robotics engineering, control integration, embedded programming and modern production management.
These programs are closely connected with the technology business ecosystem inside and outside the province, creating conditions for learners to access practice, adapt to digital transformation and participate deeply - all linked to the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, directly connected to the technology business ecosystem inside and outside the province.
According to the school representative, through this training program, EIU has pioneered in training high-quality human resources, not only equipping them with in-depth technical knowledge but also training them in integrated thinking, creativity and the ability to adapt to new technologies - decisive factors to form a team of high-tech engineers, serving the semiconductor industry, AI, smart manufacturing and digital supply chains that are forming in Binh Duong and the key economic region of the South.
From an urban perspective, Binh Duong is one of the first localities to apply digital infrastructure in management. The Smart City Operations Center has been put into operation right at the Provincial Administrative Center Building, helping to connect, analyze and process data to serve effective urban operations.
The province is committed to sustainable development according to green standards. From LEGO’s carbon-neutral factory at VSIP 3, to preferential policies for businesses using renewable energy, Binh Duong is building a set of criteria for evaluating green businesses, as a basis for prioritizing infrastructure, credit and support policies.
By 2030, the province plans to plant 1 million new trees, while increasing the proportion of urban areas with standard parks, towards a "green-smart-livable" development model.
Looking to 2045 - the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, Binh Duong aims to become the leading center for innovative industry and smart logistics in Southeast Asia.
To realize this aspiration, the province is steadfastly pursuing three strategic pillars: developing high-tech industry, comprehensive digital transformation in management and production, and institutional innovation to attract high-quality human resources and innovative businesses.
After 50 years of national reunification, Binh Duong is not only a “factory location,” but is also emerging as a place for technological innovation, a place that produces solutions for the future, from mastering renewable energy to creating a green industry./.
