Uses and dosage of lychee

Some remedies with lychee

Menstrual cramps or postpartum abdominal pain: Burn 20g of lychee seeds, 40g of Cyperus rotundus, grind into fine powder, take 6-8g per day with diluted salt water or rice water. Twice a day.

Women with lower abdominal pain (adnexal pain) like needle pricks: Slice lychee seeds as above, roast until black, roast star anise in equal amounts (4-8g), grind into fine powder, drink with warm wine, 3 times a day. Drink for many days until symptoms disappear.

Gas flukes in men (inguinal hernia, painful orchitis): Process lychee seeds as above, stir-fry until golden brown, star anise (stir-fry), kumquat seeds (tangerine seeds) stir-fry until golden brown.

All 3 ingredients are equal in amount, ground into fine powder, taken with warm water, 2-3 times a day, 6-8g each time.

Children reduce dose according to age

We can also use only litchi seeds burned into charcoal, mixed with alcohol to drink, with a dose of 4-6g. Or take litchi seeds processed in the above way, tangerine peel, equal amount 10g, fried until golden, sulfur 3g. Use in the form of fine powder. Divide into 2 doses to drink during the day.

Diarrhea due to spleen deficiency: 7 lychees, 5 jujubes. Boil to get the water and drink many times a day.

Cure hiccups: 7 lychees, 6g fresh ginger, 4g brown sugar. Boil and drink.

Swollen and painful teeth: Green lychee, add a little salt or burn it to ashes, grind it finely, and rub it on the tooth root.

Some notes when eating lychee

Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper quoted the National Institute of Nutrition as saying:

- Consumers should absolutely not eat green lychee or unripe lychee, avoid eating lychee seeds or chewing or biting lychee seeds.

- Consumers should not eat lychee when hungry because the sugar content in fresh lychee will cause blood sugar to increase suddenly, leading to heat inflammation or symptoms of dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea. Accordingly, to ensure safety, people should eat lychee after meals to avoid hypoglycemia.

The Institute of Nutrition also noted that people in lychee growing areas need to have glucose available to prevent hypoglycemia if poisoning from eating lychee is suspected.
