Recently, NH Investment & Securities, headquartered in Korea, made an assessment that the biggest instability at YG Entertainment has been resolved through the contract renewal with the group Blackpink, and there are currently no more concerns for this company.
On December 18, researcher Lee Hwa-jung released a report, in which she noted: "Blackpink's contract renewal has resolved the company's biggest uncertainty. In addition, the positive development of Babymonster and Treasure, along with Blackpink's comeback, are expected to be factors that drive YG's stock price up. The entertainment company is no longer facing any major risks."
Regarding Blackpink's individual contracts that have not been announced, she predicted: "Individual contracts are expected to be carried out flexibly. For Blackpink's individual activities such as releasing a solo album, the possibility of them collaborating with YG for their debut is very high due to trademark and ownership issues."
How did the contract renewal with Blackpink "rescue" YG?
Girl group Blackpink has signed a contract extension with YG Entertainment to continue group activities.
Regarding the members' future, she predicted: "Individual activities such as participating in shows or running their own brands will be guaranteed autonomy. However, all individual activities will take place within the scope of not interfering with or affecting group activities."
Assessing Babymonster, she stated: "Based on the current fan base, the group's chances of success seem very high."
Previously, girl group Blackpink signed a contract extension with YG Entertainment to continue their group activities. In an announcement on December 6, YG said: "The company has completed the board of directors' resolution to renew the exclusive contract for all four members of our artist Blackpink."
With this, YG Entertainment has secured its most important intellectual property. YG stated in a statement afterwards: "After thorough discussions with Blackpink, we have come to an agreement on an exclusive contract, based on our strong belief in the success of the group's activities."
