On the afternoon of June 4, at the Tuoi Tre newspaper office, an award ceremony was held to invite a number of musicians to compose songs about Tuoi Tre newspaper to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the newspaper's founding (September 2, 1975 - September 2, 2025).

After nearly a year of launching, the organizing committee received 12 songs from 10 musicians who love and have a lot of affection for Tuoi Tre newspaper.
They are musicians Le Vinh Phuc (songs Tuoi Tre - Pen of the heart , Love of Tuoi Tre newspaper ), Nguyen Quoc Viet ( Proud of 50 years of Tuoi Tre newspaper ), Ha Chuong ( Red - Young - Saigon ), Quynh Le ( Song of Tuoi Tre );
Nguyen Phi Hung ( Song of Youth , Enthusiasm of Youth ), To Hieu ( Youth firmly steps forward ), Mai Tram ( Youth in me ), Nguyen Ba Hung ( Our Youth ), Pham Hong Bien ( My Youth ) and 9X teacher Thai Duong ( Song of Youth ).

Journalist Nguyen Hoang Nguyen - deputy editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper - shared: "On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the newspaper's founding, we cherish the need to have songs composed about newspapers as products used toeducate and foster love for journalism and the newspaper for the team of journalists of Tuoi Tre .
These products are also a way to introduce readers to learn more about how Tuoi Tre newspaper was formed and developed, and at the same time commit to continue to strive to improve ourselves before readers, continue to serve readers, and not disappoint the trust that society has given us."
The compositions belong to many different musical genres, closely following the criteria set by the organizers, highlighting the formation and development process of Tuoi Tre newspaper over the past 50 years, expressing the slogan of Tuoi Tre newspaper: Red - Young - Saigon, highlighting Tuoi Tre publications, as well as the dedication of Tuoi Tre journalists with the goal of serving readers .

Based on the results of the evaluation board including musician Nguyen Quang Vinh - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, musician Nguyen Duc Trung - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and musician Nguyen Van Hien - Executive Committee member of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, the organizing committee decided to award 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes (an increase of 1 third prize compared to the original plan).

Second prize went to musician Ha Chuong with the song Red - Young - Saigon .
Two third prizes were awarded to musician Nguyen Ba Hung with the song Our Youth and musician Pham Hong Bien with the song My Youth .

Receiving the first prize, musician Mai Tram smiled happily and said she was very surprised: "I accepted the invitation from Tuoi Tre newspaper when I left for Truong Sa. Later when we met, the organizers announced that although it was an invitation, there would be a judging and awarding ceremony. I was shocked because Tuoi Tre invited many famous musicians, so why was I invited?"
She shared: "Writing about Tuoi Tre is very emotional. Tuoi Tre has many achievements to honor. But the people at the newspaper said that there was no need to write a big work, the song had to be simple, showing love for life, love for the job so that reporters could sing. The song Tuoi Tre in me was born neatly, small and the song was lucky to win an award."

Musician Ha Chuong was also surprised to learn that he won second prize. He has been associated with Tuoi Tre newspaper for many years through many programs and activities behind the scenes. He always considers Tuoi Tre newspaper as a channel to verify information.
"After participating in Vietnamese Songs , I had no interest in songwriting competitions. However, when I received an invitation from Tuoi Tre , I wanted to write a song about the newspaper to thank Tuoi Tre for supporting the reporting of my artistic works.
The song I won the award for is not necessarily the best, but maybe because it matches the criteria of the organizing committee" - musician Ha Chuong confided.

Musician Nguyen Duc Trung - member of the judging panel - commented: "The award-winning songs meet the newspaper's criteria of talking about Tuoi Tre newspaper very clearly.
The judges sat down and carefully marked each criterion. Those who did not win a high prize should not be sad. When participating in a game, there are winners and losers. The other songs are all very good, popular, and very enjoyable, each song has its own unique features."
He suggested: "Musicians with passion are very appreciated when they send songs to Tuoi Tre newspaper, so Tuoi Tre should introduce the songs to everyone."
Talking about the composition of musician Ha Chuong, musician Nguyen Duc Trung said the song expresses the climax very well and can be easily popularized for performance.

Musician Nguyen Van Hien said that in May 1975, he went to 4 Duy Tan (now Pham Ngoc Thach Street - PV) to send revolutionary songs popularized for students and to send to Tuoi Tre 's newsletter.
"At that time, the Tuoi Tre newspaper was a little bigger than an A4 sheet of paper. That was when I first learned about the Tuoi Tre newspaper. It wasn't until September that the Tuoi Tre newspaper appeared. After that, the Tuoi Tre newspaper moved to an address near the University of Economics - the agency where I worked. They gave me a page called Mass Culture and Arts. Every week I wrote for the newspaper" - the musician said.
