According to the consolidated financial report of the first quarter of 2025 of 27 listed banks, the average cost for employees in the industry is 33 million VND/month, an increase of 7.5% over the same period last year (Costs include: salary, bonus, allowances and other expenses). However, the difference between the bank spending the most and the bank spending the least on employees has increased from 26 million VND/person/month in the first quarter of 2024 to 34 million VND/person/month in the first quarter of 2025.
While most banks recorded good growth in employee costs compared to the same period last year, there were still some banks that recorded cuts in employee costs, such as Viet A Bank, Nam A Bank, etc.
Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2025, Nam A Bank reduced the average cost for employees from VND 27.5 million/person/month in the first quarter of 2024 to VND 25.3 million/person/month in the first quarter of this year.
Similarly, VietABank cut the average cost for employees in the first quarter of 2025 to VND24.1 million/person/month, from VND25 million/person/month in the first quarter of 2024. Another name that can be mentioned is LPBank, which also reduced from VND24.9 million/person/month in the first quarter of 2024 to VND23.5 million/person/month in the first quarter of 2025.
The above figures are statistics on average income from salary and allowances, depending on each position in the bank, there will be different salary and bonus regimes and often there are large differences. Because banks pay salaries based on seniority, target completion level, characteristics between departments in the bank and even between operational activities and overall performance of each branch...
In addition, along with salaries and bonuses, banks will often also issue preferential shares to employees at prices much cheaper than the market price of shares on the stock exchange.
