According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ninh Binh is determined to become a millennium heritage city, aiming to achieve the criteria of a centrally-run city by 2035. In this journey, the press is expected to play a key role: raising public awareness, criticizing policies, connecting social resources to preserve living spaces rich in historical values; at the same time, creating a long-term communication strategy to effectively promote the image of the heritage city to the world .

At the seminar, journalist Phong Diep, Deputy Head of the Culture and Society Department, Nhan Dan Newspaper, presented a paper on “Telling stories of urban heritage: The press connects the past and the present”, emphasizing the special role of the press as a “storyteller of the times”, contributing to preserving historical memories amid the flow of modernization. From reflecting the deterioration of ancient structures, leading public opinion, criticizing policies to creating multimedia content, the press not only spreads cultural values but also inspires creative industries.
The presentation also cited many international examples such as the New York Times (USA), Le Monde (France), The Korea Herald (Korea) and The Straits Times (Singapore) - newspapers that have contributed to reviving urban heritage in contemporary life through attractive, creative and effective storytelling.
