Ensuring the successful organization of the Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians

(Chinhphu.vn) – National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, the National Secretariat of the Conference, subcommittees, and relevant agencies to continue to carefully review the work, ensuring the successful organization of the conference, clearly demonstrating the role and mark of the host country Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated and commended the functional units for their efforts in completing the huge amount of work to prepare for the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

On September 14, at the National Convention Center, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue inspected the preparations for the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference. Here, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue listened to reports from agencies and inspected the preparations for facilities, technology, security, healthcare, information and communication, etc.; rehearsed the opening ceremony of the conference; visited booths at the Exhibition area for innovation achievements and OCOP products. The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated and commended the Organizing Committee, the National Secretariat of the conference, the sub-committees, the Group of Young Vietnamese National Assembly Deputies and relevant agencies of the Central Government and Hanoi City for their efforts to complete the huge amount of work to prepare for the conference. Up to now, all preparations have been completed, ready for the successful organization of the conference. The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians with the theme "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation" is the largest multilateral diplomatic event hosted by Vietnam this year. The conference attracted the participation of nearly 500 international and domestic delegates from parliaments of IPU member countries and inter-parliamentary organizations, international organizations, and observers. The National Assembly's hosting of the conference is of great significance, promoting the role of the National Assembly in implementing the Party's foreign policy, especially Resolution No. 34-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Some major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress", Directive No. 25-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the 12th Party Central Committee on promoting and elevating multilateral diplomacy to 2030 and the Strategy for developing Vietnamese youth for the period 2021-2030. At the same time, it continues to affirm the active, proactive and responsible participation, promoting the role and position of the Vietnamese National Assembly at the IPU - the largest multilateral parliamentary organization in the world, and also one of the oldest multilateral organizations in the world. With a theme that is both topical and geared towards the future of sustainable development globally, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference is an opportunity for young parliamentarians from the Inter-Parliamentary Union member parliaments to discuss parliamentary actions, promote the role of young people in accelerating the implementation of sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation, and promote cultural diversity for sustainable development. The National Assembly Chairman also requested the Organizing Committee, the National Secretariat of the Conference, subcommittees, and relevant agencies to continue to carefully review the work, ensuring the successful organization of the conference, clearly demonstrating the role and mark of the host country Vietnam. According to the program, tomorrow morning (September 15), the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference will officially open at the National Convention Center. At the opening session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will deliver an important speech welcoming nearly 500 international and domestic delegates to the Conference. President Vo Van Thuong will also send a message to the conference. Immediately after the opening session, the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference will hear an introductory speech on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the role of digital transformation and innovation.
