Vietnam Railway Corporation and Railway Joint Stock Companies, Railway Signal Information Joint Stock Company develop plans to preserve goods, transport spare materials, transfer passengers, and fully prepare food, drinking water, medicine, and medical supplies in case trains have to stop due to floods.

Agencies and units organize inspections of works and key locations at risk of insecurity due to rain and floods and reinforce them to ensure train safety. At the same time, strictly implement the patrol and guard regime for works and key locations and key areas such as bridges, tunnels, weak roads, roads prone to flooding, railway signal information works, ensuring smooth communication, serving train safety; areas prone to flash floods, steep mountain passes, rock falls, landslides, railway areas downstream of dikes, irrigation dams, reservoirs...

These agencies and units also proactively concentrate materials, equipment and human resources to be ready to overcome the consequences of rain and floods and ensure smooth traffic. They must ensure the safety of people, construction equipment, and construction items when affected by rain and floods when incidents occur; special attention must be paid to constructions in mountainous areas that are prone to sudden floods.

The Vietnam Railway Authority also reminded railway organizations and enterprises to urgently overcome the damage caused by rain and floods in the South Central provinces in recent times (especially in the areas under the responsibility of railway joint stock companies: Nghia Binh, Phu Khanh).

Previously, on the evening of November 25, the North-South railway line had just reopened after more than a week of disruption due to floods in the South Central region. After reopening, trains will run at a speed of about 5 km/h to ensure safety, then gradually increase to 15 km/h.

Vietnam Railway Corporation shared that although the railway line has been opened, it is still necessary to limit train traffic through key points so that the railway industry can continue to reinforce the roadbed and infrastructure. Then, gradually increase train speeds and restore normal train speeds along the entire route.

Trains are expected to run normally from November 28. On November 26-27, the Railway Transport Company will continue to adjust train schedules in accordance with the infrastructure situation during the recovery phase.
