Uzbekistan newspaper commented when the home team narrowly won against U22 Vietnam

In the second match of the 2025 Panda Cup friendly tournament held in Chengdu, U22 Vietnam played hard but unfortunately, coach Dinh Hong Vinh's team lost 0-1 to U22 Uzbekistan. The only goal in this match was scored by Khamidov Saidkhon in the 4th minute.

In the second half, U22 Vietnam tried to equalize but failed. Unfortunately, in the 90+3 minute, Ngoc My's header hit the crossbar of U22 Uzbekistan's goal.

Commenting on the home team’s victory over U22 Vietnam, Zamin (Uzbekistan) newspaper wrote: “Coach Ravshan Khaydarov’s team showed superiority over U22 Vietnam. Right after the opening whistle, U22 Uzbekistan controlled the game and put pressure on. In the 4th minute, Khamidov Saidkhon broke through the U22 Vietnam net after a lightning attack.

After scoring, U22 Uzbekistan still did not lose the initiative. Yarqinboev and Jumaev organized the play very well in the midfield, while Khairullaev and Khamidov became the main acceleration strikers on the wings. Meanwhile, captain Rejabaliyev commanded the defense to play confidently and steadily.

In the second half, substitutes like Muratbaev, Anvarov and Tukhsanov were brought on, showing the depth of the U22 Uzbekistan squad. U22 Vietnam responded with a few potentially dangerous attacks, but the smooth coordination between goalkeeper Rustamov and the defenders neutralized all those efforts.

Meanwhile, Sports newspaper commented: “U22 Uzbekistan decided the match against U22 Vietnam with the only goal of Khamidov Saidkhon. This victory helped coach Ravshan Khaydarov's team regain their spirit after the 0-2 defeat against U22 Korea in the opening match.

The Panda Cup is a good practice match for U22 Uzbekistan before the U23 Asian Cup in January. Therefore, the Central Asian team attaches great importance to the matches against three opponents: U22 Vietnam, U22 Korea and U22 China.

Stadion newspaper wrote: “After losing to U22 Korea in the opening match, U22 Uzbekistan stood up at the right time when they won 1-0 against U22 Vietnam.
