Protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the digital transformation period

This is the theme of the Conference organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association on the morning of November 17 in Hoa Binh City. Attending the Conference were comrades: Bui Tuan Quang, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; more than 200 delegates of the Journalists Associations of 25 provinces and cities in the Northern region; and the branches and sub-branches of the Journalists Association under the Central Committee of the Association.

Implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation. In recent years, the press has created a vibrant, pervasive atmosphere and motivated the whole society to participate in the country's important political tasks. The press has actively disseminated the Party's ideology, policies and guiding viewpoints, effectively propagating the country's major political and economic decisions; identified and fought against corruption, negativity, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; proactively fought against the "peaceful evolution" plot of hostile forces, erroneous viewpoints of political opportunists; criticized the exploitation of beliefs, religions, the issue of sovereignty over seas and islands... to incite, entice and divide the great national unity bloc; contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party and the path of building socialism in our country.

Many major newspapers have gathered prestigious scientists , theorists, and practitioners to write articles directly to refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints with high-quality articles, creating good social effects on prominent columns and pages. Online forums have been well organized, thereby orienting politics and ideology and raising awareness of all classes of people on "hot" issues, refuting bad and toxic information, distorted and slanderous arguments, and correctly orienting public opinion.

Local press has its own methods and approaches in fighting and preventing hostile and destructive elements, especially on issues of ethnicity, religion, democracy and human rights. With the advantage of being familiar with and closely following the locality, local press is always the one who quickly detects problems, promptly handles hot spots, warns, and proposes effective solutions to prevent wrong views, refute hostile forces, and contribute to creating political stability for local economic development.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and contributed opinions, clarifying a number of contents: The vanguard role of the press and media in identifying plots and tricks of hostile forces to sabotage the Party's ideological foundation, especially in the context of national digital transformation taking place strongly in all areas of social life; practical activities, requirements in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation for press agencies today; characteristics in the fight against erroneous and hostile views of each unit and locality; identifying difficulties and challenges arising in the practical struggle. Improving political qualities, fostering professional qualifications for the team of people working in protecting the ideological foundation, training and practicing forces to participate in the fight against refuting in the new situation.
