Real estate pushes VN-Index up nearly 15 points

VnExpressVnExpress20/09/2023

Stocks skyrocketed at the end of the session on September 20 as cash flow poured into the real estate group, NVL hit the ceiling, VIC and VHM led the bluechip group.

The index's upward momentum at the end of yesterday's session helped to loosen investors' sentiment somewhat. However, the VN-Index is still struggling near the 1,200-point threshold, causing the market to remain cautious and probing, with both buyers and sellers waiting for the trend to be confirmed.

VN-Index opened today in the green but the increase was only around a few points. Market-leading groups such as banking, real estate, steel, and retail traded near the reference. The tug-of-war situation was maintained until the end of the morning session.

In the afternoon session, cash flow started to be more positive. Green color in some groups gradually expanded. Securities stocks returned to the race. VIC and VHM, which had fallen sharply recently, became the leading groups in VN30. NVL changed from the red price at the beginning of the session to the ceiling price. Green color spread to the rest of the market.

VN-Index increased continuously, closing the session at 1,226.11 points, up 14.61 points (1.21%). VN30-Index increased more than 9 points (0.74%) to 1,234.57 points. On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, HNX-Index increased nearly 2%, while UPCOM-Index added 0.3%.

Green dominated the closing price, with more than 400 stocks increasing on HoSE, compared to less than 100 stocks decreasing. In the VN30 group, 22/30 stocks increased in price.

Leading the market today is the real estate group. In VN30, VIC and VHM were the two most positive contributors, increasing by 3.5% and 2.9% respectively. GVR also increased by 3.6%, BCM added 2.9%, VRE increased by 1.8%. In other groups, banks and securities also improved. TPB, VIC, TCB, SHB shares added more than 1% after today's session.

Besides VN30, NVL is the name that attracted attention when it reversed from the red price at the beginning of the session to the "empty sell side" status. This code closed the session at 18,500 VND, with more than 40 million shares changed hands. Other real estate codes such as DIG, SCR, DIG, HQC, CEO also increased sharply. The same was true for the securities, steel, construction, and retail groups.

HoSE floor liquidity reached more than 20,300 billion VND, with VN30 group alone trading more than 7,000 billion.
