Arrested the thief who stole the Rolex watch of a beachgoer

On the evening of April 5, Phuoc My Ward Police (Son Tra District, Da Nang City) handed over to Son Tra District Police a suspect who had stolen a Rolex watch worth more than 10,000 USD and was caught red-handed by the Tourism Order Management Team (Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches).

The suspect is Le Thanh Nam (38 years old, residing in village 2, Dong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh ).

Previously, on the evening of April 4, Ms. LTYL, an employee of working group No. 3, Tourism Order Management Team (Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches), while on duty at My Khe beach (Phuoc My Ward), discovered Le Thanh Nam acting suspiciously.

Nam went alone, did not go swimming but loitered around the places where beachgoers left their belongings on the sand, looking around.

Ms. LTYL was vigilant and kept a low profile for many hours. At about 5:15 p.m., she discovered Nam taking a bag from the sand and walking back up the shore towards the East Sea Park.

Ms. L. recorded the video and called her colleagues, including Mr. NQH (staff of Working Group No. 3), PTT (head of Working Group No. 2), PND (deputy head of Working Group No. 2) to come and support.

Four officers chased Le Thanh Nam across Vo Nguyen Giap Street, arrested Nam on Duong Dinh Nghe Street nearby with evidence of a beach visitor's bag, and at the same time called the Phuoc My Ward Police for coordination.

At the Son Tra Peninsula Management Station and Da Nang tourist beaches, the stolen property was found to include 2 wallets containing 25.5 million VND and 200 USD, 1 Rolex watch worth 10,000 USD, 1 phone, and personal documents.

The owner of the stolen property is Mr. LCD (74 years old, Vietnamese American, temporarily residing at a hotel in Da Nang).

The total value of the assets is approximately 300 million VND. After making a record, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches handed over the suspect to Phuoc My Ward Police.

Le Thanh Nam continued to be handed over to Son Tra District Police for temporary criminal detention to consolidate the case file and prosecute the act of property theft.
